Imagine....
The ability to learn ... and to love to learn
Addlestone Hebrew Academy goes beyond traditional education, offering a contemporary philosophy and approach consistent with current educational research.
Individual attention with a holistic approach
Our philosophy provides for personal growth and development in a safe environment that is both academically challenging and emotionally nurturing. We encourage the opening of new vistas and a search for meaning. We want our students to know themselves as individuals and to accept others.
Our goal is to make each child a successful learner. To ensure this, our highly-skilled teachers receive ongoing professional development so they can individualize lesson plans to fit each child's learning style and level, as well as stay current with new research and most effective strategies.
Brain-based learning actively engages multiple intelligences so students can develop patterns for understanding, integrating and interpreting information in both general and Judaic studies. Students debate, explore and engage in all aspects of learning. The emphasis is on independent, critical thinking and application of values and ethics.
Jewish Identity
Love of Judaism is our core. We instill in our students the knowledge, understanding, and skills, bringing meaning to their individual search for Jewish identity and spiritual, communal responsibility. The study of Judaics is more than Torah, history, and Hebrew. It is instilling the Jewish way of thought and deed in our daily lives based on the centuries-old ethics and values of our people.
A Vision for the Future
Our goal is to produce young men and women who are self confident and responsible citizens, recognized for their achievements, and passionate about their education. Students are prepared for the rigors of high school, college, and beyond. They possess the attitude, skills, and knowledge to respond confidently and comfortably to future academic and social challenges; their values are shaped by Jewish tradition and thought.
