New High Holiday Programs for Beginners
1ST DAY OF ROSH HASHANAH - Thursday, September 9th
BEGINNER’S SERVICE: In addition to the regular service in the main sanctuary, BSBI will offer a one hour explanatory service at 11:45 am in the BSBI Chapel, led by Rabbi Beni Krohn of the Jewish Renaissance of Charleston. The service will go beyond the prayer book, and will focus on discussing the meaning behind the prayers. Men and women are welcome to participate.
SHOFAR ON THE LAKE - Thursday, September 9th, 5:00-6:00 pm at Colonial Lake. Join us as we take the celebration of Rosh Hashanah to the streets of Charleston! Adults, children and college students are all invited to listen to the Shofar and to participate in the cleansing tradition of Tashlich (symbolically tossing one’s sins into the water). Enjoy singing, kibbitzing, and an opportunity to sound the Shofar. Who can blow the longest Tekiah sound?
2ND DAY ROSH HASHANAH - Friday, September 10th
**INTRODUCING THE ROSH HASHANAH RECAP!
6:00-7:00 pm in the BSBI Chapel.

This special gathering is a co-ed, interactive service designed to capture the themes of Rosh Hashana. The Rosh Hashana Recap will be a casual get-together, open to the public and free of charge.
